The ability to interact with the audience up close adds so much contagious energy to the room. I recently played a showcase there and loved how intimate and exclusive it.

I’m also a huge fan of the Troc’s smaller venue, the Balcony. The Troc is an awesome venue to catch both underground artists and the hottest up-and-comers because the acoustics are out of this world. If that’s the level of music they record, you can only imagine how good the live performances are. It’s where they recorded one of my all-time favorite songs, “Cry me a River” by Justin Timberlake.

I actually first discovered MilkBoy through their recording studio on N. They bring live, meaningful music to the masses every week. The vibe is unbeatable, and it’s always filled with unique talent from all over the world. The name says it all-it’s a great space to catch some underground artists! I love coming here because it’s undeniably the best spot to seek local, raw talent, unseen anywhere else. Here’s where you can find Zae and his crew taking the stage or scouting for new acts: Underground Arts So, to find Philly’s coolest unknown acts, we enlisted the help of Philly native and R&B recording artist, Zae, to give us the scoop on all of his favorite hidden gems to take in all of the city’s fresh talent. But in an ever-changing music scene, it can be hard to keep tabs on the go-to spots to catch a show by the next big up-and-comers. Other sites report similar ‘downgrades,’ so overall the ranking would still hold.Philly’s been home to some pretty impressive musicians-Hall & Oates, The Roots, Marshmallow, Pink, Patti Labelle, and Boyz II Men (to name a few!) and the entertainment options just keep getting better. The Pirate Bay for example claims 1,500,000,000 pageviews, which is more than double the Google estimate. We have to note though that several site owners in this list told TorrentFreak that the monthly pageviews and unique visitors are hugely underestimated.

In the last year many cyberlocker sites have outgrown The Pirate Bay, Torrentz, isoHunt and other popular torrent sites.īelow is the full list of sites based on Google’s ranking. Where most BitTorrent sites were seeing moderate growth, several new cyberlockers saw their traffic surge.

In the years that followed BitTorrent sites continued to dominate, but in the background cyberlockers were catching up, and catching up fast. Early 2007 Mininova was the first BitTorrent site to earn a place among the top 100 most-visited sites on the Internet, and soon thereafter they were joined by The Pirate Bay. This picture is quite different from the landscape 5 years ago when BitTorrent sites dominated the file-sharing space. What stands out immediately is that 8 of the 10 sites are related to cyberlockers, and only 2 are BitTorrent sites. The Internet is the largest copying machine ever invented, and if we take a look at the massive amounts of traffic file-sharing sites get, millions of people are using it to its full extent.Ĥshared, the largest English language file-sharing site, is serving 2.5 billion pageviews alone every month, and this number is increasing rapidly.īelow we have compiled a list of the top 10 largest (general purpose) file-sharing sites on the Internet, based on measurements by Google.
